I don't why you feel that way. I find that everybody thinks at least 1 group is snobby or arrogant. For example, The French hate Americans, and Americans think Frenchmen are arrogant snobs. But, I guess your question is, why should everything be in English? In aviation, English is the only language spoken. Regardless if I'm in Moscow or Stuttgart, I talk to the tower in English.
